Mauritius Airports participates in ACI World Governing Board Meeting 2022

AML participated in the first meeting for 2022 of the World Governing Board of Airports Council International (ACI), in the Sultanate of Oman a few days ago. Mauritius Airport was represented by Mr Siven Chellen, Officer-in-Charge of AML and also Board Director of ACI World and ACI Africa. The gathering of the Captains of the Airport Industry was the chosen platform to discuss key issues and future strategies to allow the sector to rebound after the pandemic and to facilitate recovery after several challenging months.

This meeting was also the opportunity for the OIC of AML, to share the perspective of the African airports and to wish for enhanced cooperation between ACI members. Other subjects discussed included sustainability initiatives, the impact of rising oil prices and the repercussions of geo-political tensions in some regions of the world, among others.

Following the World Governing Board Meeting, several decisions were made with respect to the future strategies to be implemented for the benefit of ACI Members and to allow the sector to grow and prosper again.
